Emotional issues within dreams are often brought to our attention symbolically. Water, swampy ground, mist and mud... these refer to sadness, being stuck and addiction.  Wet, grey, monster-filled ruins, maze-like houses... these are explorations into the earth-bound realm, the next 'heaven' above this plane of matter. Anger issues are often expressed as fire, lava, anything burning or smoldering. The classic one is a volcano. Knowing what your subconscious is trying to make you aware of consciously helps you address, and move past these things. Helps you resolve the past and really leave it behind. Resolving old emotional issues even makes you wiser. One I see often is the neglected animal. Wasted, starved, often dead in its cage or pen. Sometimes miraculously barely alive. Why does a pyramid have four sides? A pyramid is a monument to what humanity is. It is heavy in mass But has fire... pyre, a divine spark in its midst... amid It is aligned, in its mass, to this planet, harmoniously  North, South, East and West. As are our bodies,  Our space suits, specific to this earth.

Four describes the circle of our reality.  Wherever we go we are surrounded. North, east, south, and west Lay down. Head, left hand, butt, and right hand Consciousness, emotion/feeling, sexuality, energy/doing Swords, cups, coins and wands Air, water, earth, and fire  Winter, spring, summer, and fall Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury Yule, Imbolc, Beltain, and Samhain  Around and around like a wheel This is Frodo's ring - so alluring,  so fatal, if it traps you, and yet The key to our deliverance. This is an old article, and I see it has spread, so I will offer a much better insight for you.  The image of a rabbit or hare can be seen formed by the craters/shadows on a full moon. We all perceive this consciously or unconsciously.  As the moon has it's cycles it is associated with women and their menses.  As it is proverbial in our culture that rabbits or hares are very prolific, we also associate this animal, in dream interpretation, with productivity in general and especially reproduction. We also see timidity in the hare or rabbit. We have the Easter Bunny, the Dumb Bunny, the Playboy Bunny, Bugs Bunny... cultural associations are important to understand... the sacred has a sense of humor.  These are the associations that will be banging around in your subconscious if you are an average westerner. Context matters in narrowing down the intended meaning. It takes practice, but symbolism is the language of God, so I study it.
